Ingredients

 

For the Caramel Sauce

Ingredient Amount
🥛 Whipping cream 1¼ cups (310 ml)
🧈 Unsalted butter 4 tbsp (55 g), chopped
🍯 Light or dark brown sugar 150 g

 

 

For the Waffles

🥚 Eggs 3
🥛 Milk 430 ml
🧈 Unsalted butter 9 tbsp (125 g), melted and cooled
🌿 Vanilla extract 1 tsp
🌾 Self-raising flour 300 g
🍯 Light or dark brown sugar 100 g, divided
🍌 Large bananas 2, thinly sliced (plus extra to serve)

Instructions

  1. To make the caramel sauce, combine the cream, butter and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce to medium-low and simmer for 3 minutes or until thickened.
  2. Select CLASSIC setting and dial up LIGHT/ DARK indicator dial to suit your preference.
  3. Preheat until the orange light flashes and the word HEATING disappears.
  4. Meanwhile, make the waffles, place the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla in a medium bowl and whisk until well combined.
  5. Combine the flour and half the sugar in a large bowl and make a well in the center.
  6. Whisk the egg mixture into the flour mixture to form a smooth batter.
  7. Pour just under ½ cup of batter into each waffle square. Top each square with 3 slices of banana and 1 teaspoon of the remaining sugar. Close the lid to cook.
  8. Repeat with remaining batter, bananas and sugar.
  9. Serve waffles with banana, ice cream, caramel sauce and pecans.
